STEM Day at the Dublin Public Library

  • Dublin Public Library 206 West Blackjack Street Dublin, TX, 76446 United States (map)

Join us for an exciting hands-on adventure all about the ground beneath our feet! This engaging program is designed specifically for kids who are curious about the world around them. Participants will roll up their sleeves and dive into the fascinating world of soil, exploring various types and learning what makes each one unique.

Children will have the opportunity to touch, feel, and examine soils from various environments, understanding how factors such as texture, color, and composition contribute to their distinct characteristics. They'll learn why soil is so important for our ecosystem and how it supports plant and animal life.

After this soil exploration, the fun continues as we transition into a creative activity where we’ll work together to build a delicious "edible soil model." This hands-on project will allow kids to assemble and layer edible materials that represent the various layers of soil. As they construct their models, they'll gain insights into concepts like topsoil, subsoil, and bedrock, all while enjoying a tasty treat!

This interactive program is perfect for young scientists and curious minds who love discovery and a little bit of mess! So, come prepared to dig in (literally and figuratively) for a day filled with learning, creativity, and a whole lot of fun! Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to explore the wonders of soil in a way that's both educational and delicious!
