Blacklighting Night with The Tarleton Entomological Society

All are invited to participate in an exciting evening hosted by the Ditch Water Discovery Center in collaboration with the Tarleton Entomological Society. Join us for a night of bug-watching that promises to be both educational and entertaining!

Together, we will explore the fascinating world of insects inhabiting the Ditch. Participants will have the opportunity to observe various species up close, discuss their ecological roles, and learn about their behaviors and habitats. Using the platform iNaturalist, we will document our findings, contributing to citizen science and enhancing our understanding of local biodiversity.

Whether you're an entomology enthusiast or simply curious about the critters around us, this event is perfect for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there for a night full of exploration and discovery!

Join us for the 7th Annual Nature Fest, a free, family-friendly event featuring hands-on activities, wildlife education, and outdoor fun! Hosted by the Prairie Oaks Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program, Nature Fest brings together experts, volunteers, and community members to celebrate and learn about protecting the natural treasures of Central Texas. 

Designed with families in mind!

Every family receives a swag bag with nature goodies and activities to take home. Adults and kids alike will find something to love — whether it’s chatting with wildlife biologists, making butterfly crafts, taking a guided nature walk, or simply enjoying the native plants, insects, birds, and animals. Admission is free, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
