Join us for an educational and interactive STEM activity where we will delve into the fascinating world of spiders!
The event will include:
A reading of Jumper : a day in the life of a backyard jumping spider by Jessica Lanan
A bug exploration! We will supply bug catchers and magnifying glasses for you to go on your very own bug hunt!

Blacklighting Night with The Tarleton Entomological Society
All are invited to participate in an exciting evening hosted by the Ditch Water Discovery Center in collaboration with the Tarleton Entomological Society. Join us for a night of bug-watching that promises to be both educational and entertaining!
Together, we will explore the fascinating world of insects inhabiting the Ditch. Participants will have the opportunity to observe various species up close, discuss their ecological roles, and learn about their behaviors and habitats. Using the platform iNaturalist, we will document our findings, contributing to citizen science and enhancing our understanding of local biodiversity.
Whether you're an entomology enthusiast or simply curious about the critters around us, this event is perfect for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there for a night full of exploration and discovery!

Bosque County Farm Bureau Ag Day
Event put on by the Bosque County Farm Bureau. The Ditch and Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District will be in attendance conducting presentations for students from local Bosque County schools.

STEM Day at the Dublin Public Library
Join us for an engaging evening focused on bird migration and how we can protect these incredible creatures. We'll be screening the film Building for Birds, which highlights the challenges birds face during migration, such as window strikes and light pollution.
In addition to the film, we will discuss how to create safer environments for birds in our communities. We’ll also delve into the essential resources birds need for migration, including access to water.
Snacks will be provided, so come hungry and ready to learn!
Stephenville STEM Day
Join us for an educational and interactive STEM activity where we will delve into the fascinating world of clouds! This month, we’ll explore the myths inspired by different cloud shapes and learn how they can indicate upcoming weather changes.

STEM Day at the Comanche Public Library
Can you transform muddy water into something clean using only natural materials? At this STEM Day challenge, students will use items like clay, sand, charcoal, and more to explore how filtration works, and see if they can turn murky water clear!
All ages are welcome; however, younger students will need an adult’s assistance with this activity.
STEM Day at the Dublin Public Library
Get ready to dive into some hands-on fun! Join us for the Water Olympics, an interactive science program where participants explore the incredible properties of water through a series of exciting challenges and experiments.
From testing water’s surface tension to discovering its cohesive and adhesive powers, this activity turns science into friendly competition. Participants will hypothesize, test, and learn how water behaves in the world around us.

Stephenville STEM Day
Join us at the Stephenville Public Library for an educational and interactive STEM activity!
We will have a meaningful, hands-on storytime centered on caring for our planet’s most precious resource. Children will listen to the powerful picture book We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom, then create a handprint craft. During the read‑aloud, we will talk about what it means to be a “water protector,” how water connects us all, and simple ways kids can help care for rivers, lakes, and oceans in their everyday lives.

We will read a book about the water cycle and then play an interactive water cycle game where children will make beaded bracelets.
Toddler Time/ Story Time
In place of the usual Wednesday class at the Stephenville Public Library, we are bringing Storytime to The Ditch! Join us for a nature-themed story, learn about the Ditch, and participate in a craft related to what we discover. This program is designed for younger children, but older siblings are always welcome!
ASL in Nature
Are you ready to dive into the fascinating world of American Sign Language? Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to enhance your skills, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Join the Tarleton American Sign Language Club for an engaging workshop where our enthusiastic members will teach you the basics of sign language. Learn essential signs and explore nature-related vocabulary that will help you connect with the environment and communicate in a whole new way!
This fun-filled evening is open to everyone, so bring your friends and family along! Not only will you gain valuable communication skills, but you'll also have the chance to meet new people and dive deeper into the beautiful world of sign language.

In collaboration with The Rooted Soul Yoga + Wellness. Melody will utilize Barre fitness to strengthen, tone, and challenge your entire body. This 45-minute class will balance movement with stretching and is appropriate for all levels. Although dance is not the focus of Barre, Melody's fun playlist may inspire you to shake your tail feather!

Join us for the 7th Annual Nature Fest, a free, family-friendly event featuring hands-on activities, wildlife education, and outdoor fun! Hosted by the Prairie Oaks Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program, Nature Fest brings together experts, volunteers, and community members to celebrate and learn about protecting the natural treasures of Central Texas.
Designed with families in mind!
Every family receives a swag bag with nature goodies and activities to take home. Adults and kids alike will find something to love — whether it’s chatting with wildlife biologists, making butterfly crafts, taking a guided nature walk, or simply enjoying the native plants, insects, birds, and animals. Admission is free, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
